Sheldon Levine
(May 8, 1926 - January 17, 2015)



Sheldon “Moe” Levine, 88, of Huntington, WV died January 17, 2015. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00p.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at B’nai Sholom Synagogue by Rabbi Jean Eglinton. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Sheldon was born May 8, 1926, son of the late Milton and Ethel Levine. He served in the United States Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater. Sheldon had a 40 year career at the Herald Dispatch as Credit Manager, and was a member of the B’nai Sholom Synagogue congregation. He was preceded in death by his wife Lorine Levine, Brother Bernard Levine, Stepdaughter Linda Nutter and step daughter-in-law Barbara Effingham. Survivors include: daughter Regina Levine, step-son Larry Effingham, three granddaughters and spouses Rachel and Eric Von Hendrix, Debbie and Carter Jarrell, Sara and Aaron Seltzer, Two Grandsons and spouses, James and Ikuko Whitsitt, Damon Effingham, five great-grandchildren, Miles and Morgan Davis, Joshua Whitsitt, Jacob Jarrell, Conner Jarrell and a Special Friend Mary Clay. Friends may call from 5p.m. to 7p.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary. According to Jewish traditions, please do not send live flowers to the temple; send them to someone you love or you may make a donation to B’nai Shalom Congregation, or the charity of your choice in Sheldon’s honor.
