Phyllis McDonie Moore
(October 12, 1922 - January 15, 2015)



Phyllis McDonie Moore, 92, of Huntington, died Thursday, January 15, 2015 at her residence. She was born October 12, 1922 in Huntington, a daughter of the late Lawrence C. and Stella Barbour McDonie. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, James A. Moore and a sister, Evelyn Johnston. Phyllis attended Marshall University, was a member of Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the E.T. Jones Class and a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a retired book keeper for Appalachian Life Insurance and a longtime volunteer at the Cabell Huntington Hospital Gift Shop. She is survived by two daughters and a son, Sheila Dobbie (John) of Columbus, Ohio, Bari Harrah of Huntington and Kelly Moore (Susan) of Wheeling; Grandchildren, Kenny and Shawn Harrah, Tami Reeves, Shannon Lawson and Katie Collett; nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary by the Rev. Jack Lipphardt . Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Noon until service time at the Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Hoops Family Children’s Hospital c/o Cabell Huntington Hospital.
