JO ANNE SHIVEL SHIVELY
(1926 - November 12, 2015)


JO ANNE SHIVEL SHIVELY, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, November 12, 2015 in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Jo Anne was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Donald M. Shively. She was also preceded in death by her half-brother, Harry Shivel, Jr. She is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Lynn (David) White of Madison, MS, Kim (Gene) Gardner of Madison, MS and Robin (Richard) Eaton of Ridgeland, MS. Additional survivors include four grandsons, Ryan (Amanda) Eaton, Alan (Lily) Eaton, Grant (Ashleigh) Gardner and Brad Gardner; three granddaughters: Amanda (Tripp) Douglas; Reagan (Jason) Peets; and Tracey Gardner; and eight great grandchildren. JoAnne was born in Grayson, Kentucky on June 7, 1926, the daughter of Harry and Ercelle Shivel. Jo Anne lived the majority of her life in Huntington, W.Va. She was a graduate of Marshall University and the Victory Bible Training Center at New Life Church, where she was a member for many years. She moved to Mississippi eight years ago in order to be close to family. Since moving to Mississippi, she was known to most people as MeMaw. Jo Anne's greatest pleasures in life were being a loving wife and mother. She is best remembered in Huntington for the many Bible studies she taught and the many people she led to the Lord. A memorial service was held in Ridgeland MS, Saturday. A graveside memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Woodmere Memorial Burial Park, Abbey of Remembrance.
