Parsons, W.Va. His family later moved to Huntington where he attended West
Jr. High and Huntington High School, graduating in 1952. Dwight attended and
graduated with a Mechanical Engineer degree from the University of
Cincinnati in 1956. While attending the University of Cincinnati, Dwight
would co-op with the International Nickel Company which led to being
employed by them in the Engineering Department upon graduation. Also, while
attending the University of Cincinnati, Dwight was a member of the Army ROTC
program and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. He proudly served his
country for two years at Ft. Stewart, GA. Upon completing his service to his
country, Dwight returned to Huntington and the International Nickel Company
in the Engineering Department which later led to the position of
Superintendent of Mechanical Services. Upon retiring after a successful
career of 30 years with the International Nickel Company, Dwight served as
project manager with the West Virginia Board of Regents for construction
renovation projects in Smith Hall and as a consultant for the construction
of the Performing Arts Center at Marshall University. He was also employed

in Buffalo, W.Va. Dwight’s belief in God, his leadership, strong character,
discipline, and commendable work ethic was who he was. He was respected by
his family, friends, and co-workers. He was the one our family would seek
for advice. Dwight has been a long time, faithful member of Fifth Avenue
Baptist Church and for many years a member of First Baptist Church of

congregations. Dwight was a member of the Rotary Club of Huntington, and a
Paul Harris Fellow, and fifty-year member of A.F. & A.M. #53. Dwight’s
grandchildren are honored to serve as his pallbearers. We are all in
agreement that God surely designed a wonderful person who has a special
place in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be
