Bessie Xenakie
(May 17, 1925 - January 29, 2019)

Bessie Xenakie of Huntington, died Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at her residence.  She was the daughter of the late Emanuel George and Leona M. Xenakie.  Born in Huntington, she was a graduate of Huntington High School and Marshall University where she received her master’s degree.  Bessie was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, American Association of University Women, National Education Association, Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society of Education, Cabell County Association of Retired School Teachers, Pan-Icarian brotherhood of America, Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society, and a Volunteer at Cabell Huntington Hospital.  Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2019 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church by Rev. Father C. Mark Elliott,  Entombment will follow in Woodmere Abbey of Remembrance.
