Sallie Lu Bannister
(July 23, 1923 - April 18, 2012)


SALLIE LU BANNISTER, 82, of Huntington went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 18, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012, at the Jefferson Avenue Church of God with Pastor Paul Ray Farley and Pastor Greg Tomlinson. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Sallie was born on July 23, 1929, in McConnell, W.Va., the daughter of the late Charles and Polly Curry Bannister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother Lula Curry, aunts and uncles Jane and Robert Prichard, David and Lula Bayer, Lassa and Harry Artis. She is survived by her lifelong friend and sister Dorothy Bannister; her nieces and nephews Jim and Lackawanna Teams, Detra Bannister, Kevin Bannister; close first cousins Deanna Bayer, Barizu Ranconi and David Bill Bayer, April and Mike Carroll, Scott Teams, Jon and Tracy Teams, Lauren, Andrew and Alex Carroll and Nate Bannister and many great-nieces and nephews. Sallie was retired from BB&T Bank and was a charter member of Jefferson Avenue Church of God. Sallie spent her life in service to the Lord and will be missed by many friends and loved ones. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012, at the Reger Funeral Home. Sallie will be taken to the church one hour before the service.
