Curtis Staley Sr.
(March 7, 1921 - April 13, 2012)



Curtis Staley, Sr., 91, of Huntington, went to meet his Lord and Savior on Friday April 13, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Tuesday at the Buffalo Valley Missionary Baptist Church by Pastor Tim Jayne and Pastor Kim Stone. Burial will follow in Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington. He was born March 7, 1921, in Wayne County, WV, the son of the late Willie and Martha Hutchinson Staley. He was a veteran of WWII and a devoted member of Buffalo Valley Missionary Baptist Church. He was a farmer and carpenter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son Ricky Staley, 2 sisters, 3 brothers, 7 brothers in law and 8 sisters in law. Curtis is survived by his wife of 63 years, Connie Hatten Staley, 3 sons and daughters in law Curtis Staley, Jr. and his wife Georgene Staley, Danny and Myrtle Staley all of Huntington and Larry and Laura Staley of Maryland; one daughter and son in law Anna Ilene and Kenneth Hill of Huntington; one sister and brother in law Wanda and Fred Woitcheck of Florida; one brother Robert Staley of Huntington; sisters in law Dicie Hatten of Ohio, Bonnie and Larry Jordan of Florida and Evelyn Staley Kitchen of Huntington; 20 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren and a host of great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Monday at the Buffalo Valley Missionary Baptist Church.
