Henry Edward Humphreys
(March 23, 1922 - July 9, 2012)


HENRY EDWARD HUMPHREYS, 90, of Huntington, beloved husband of Juanita Gwilliams Humphreys and father of Rebecca Ann Humphreys Davis and the late Edward Allen Humphreys, entered heaven on Monday, July 9, 2012. Henry was the son of the late Jay and Ona Bell Humphreys. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his precious son, Edward Allen Humphreys, granddaughter Edwina Sue Humphreys Mayo, great-grandson Randy Thomblin, special nephew Tom Coglianese and brother James Humphreys. Beside being survived by his wife, Juanita, of 70 years, and daughter, Becky, he is also survived by a brother, Paul Humphreys of Huntington; son-in-law Jerry Davis of Huntington; daughter-in-law Janice Jackson Humphreys of Cross Hill, S.C.; four grandchildren, Jay R. Humphreys of Zionsville, Ind. (wife Pam Morrison Humphreys), Rick Humphreys of Simpsonville, S.C. (wife Melissa Stonoff Humphreys), Jerra Ann Weise of Mogadore, Ohio (husband Tom Weise) and Jerred Andrew Davis of Xenia, Ohio (wife Darcy Davis); 11 great-grandchildren, Connor, Jordan and Jensen Humphreys, Samuel, Madalyn and Leah Ella-Sue Humphreys, Grant, Emma Kate and Carson Weise and Sophia and Jack Henry Davis; and special brother-in-law Larry Spurlock of Huntington. He was blessed by many additional loving family members and friends, which he cherished. Henry retired from the Ashland Daily Independent. He was passionate about photographing family, camping, daily journaling and foreign missions. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Grace Gospel Church, where Henry was a charter member, with the Pastors Keith Wiebe and Jerry Matt officiating. Interment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, Henry requested that donations be made to the missionary fund of Grace Gospel Church.
