Betty Jean Simmons
(March 31, 1928 - July 12, 2012)



BETTY J. CHAPMAN SIMMONS, 84, of Huntington, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation. Betty was born March 31, 1928, to the late Arnold and Margaret Chapman. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary A. Chapman and a brother George W. Chapman. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack C. Simmons (Paula) and Jesse W. Simmons (Angie) and one daughter and son-in-law, Nora M. Ward (Steve); four sisters and brothers-in-law, Mae L. Welch (Robert), Patricia A. Hale, Zinna R. Erwin and Helen M. Tomblin (Obie) and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Samuel J. Chapman (Elaine), Arthur L. Chapman (Linda) and Denis H. Chapman (Debbie), six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Betty was a member of the Walnut Hills Church of the Nazarene and traveled all her life singing gospel music. Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Saturday by Pastor Fred McCarty and Jesse Simmons at the Reger Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the Reger Funeral Home.
