Dorothy May Rigney
(January 15, 1928 - August 3, 2013)


Dorothy May Rigney, 85, of Proctorville, Ohio, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Heartland of Riverview, South Point, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Bob Withers. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. She was born January 15, 1928 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late Lakin and Bertie May Ward Smith. Dorothy was a former employee of Sylvania and volunteered for the WV Grandparents Program. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Christopher Columbus Watts whom she was married to for 26 years; her second husband Joseph Scudere whom she was married to for 28 years until his death and her third husband Hartley Rigney. A grandson Jodi Adkins; her brothers and sisters in law Harold Ralph and Helen Smith, Herbert Lee and Maxine Smith; her two sisters and brothers in law Norma Virginia and Herman Hicks and Patricia Ann and Earl Cooledge Mannon and her brother in law Curtis Cabell. Survivors include her children whom she had with Mr. Watts, Robert Sherman Watts and his wife Joy of Proctorville, Ohio, Doria Dianne Watts Hodgkinson and her husband Darryl of Barboursville, Linda Darling Watts Adkins and her husband Carroll Ray of Huntington; her daughter whom she had with Mr. Scudere, Marcia Scudere Johnson and her husband Brian of Proctorville; thirteen Grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; a sister Nancy Lucille Smith Cabell of Barboursville and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 1 pm until service time Tuesday at the Reger Funeral Home.
