Rev. Berman A. Wilis
(May 27, 1937 - September 18, 2013)



Absent from the body and present with the Lord. Rev. Berman A. “Sug” Willis Jr., 76, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 18, 2013. He was born May 27, 1937 and born to his new life on June 14, 1964, son of the late Berman A. Willis Sr. and Olgia Gibson Willis. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother: Billy Willis and two sisters: Catherine Caldwell and Virgie Marie Wheeler. Left to cherish his memory his loving wife of 55 years: Gloria Jean (McCoy) Willis, two sons: Ronald A. Willis and Berman “Pinky” Willis III. Two daughters: Virginia “Jenny” Willis Erwin and Ava Shirlette Willis McCarty. Seven grandchildren who he loved dearly- Amanda Jean and her husband Paul McComas, Nicole McCarty; Jeannie and her husband Chad Keith, Faith Erwin, Ashley Willis, Justin Willis and Mindy Clark. Seven Great Grandchildren: Tucker and Grant McComas who were the light of his life: Shelby, Jacob, Maddi and Molly Keith and Lydia Mays. Also surviving is his brother and friend Oscar “Buddy” Willis, Sue Thompson and Sidney Sanders... plus many extended family and friends. He was a self-employed Plumber and Heating and Air Conditioning for 49 years. Although he had been pastor for many churches for over 40 years he was an active member of First Independent Missionary Baptist Church of Kenova, WV. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Friends may call from 5-8 pm Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Reger Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday September 22, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Reger Funeral Home by Pastor Scott Byard. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Kenova, WV. The family would like to thank everyone for all their prayers. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Independent Missionary Baptist Church, Kenova, WV.
