Obituary
Mary Kathryn Kiff Tucker,
81, of Huntington, W.Va. went to her heavenly home Wednesday April 9, 2014
at the Heritage Center, Huntington. She was born February 1st, 1933 at Ona,
W.Va. a daughter of the late Francis Owen and Lois Irene Kirtley Kiff. Mary
Kathryn, or Aunt Katchie, or Memaw, however she was addressed by the many
that loved her, was one of the most loving and caring souls that God
created. Her passions in life, or in her words, “God’s purpose for her”,
were her piano playing in church and her abundant love for children. Through
the years she played for Beverly Hills United Methodist Church Choirs, which
she was a lifelong member and Bethesda United Methodist Church Choirs and
later the Underwood Senior Center. She loved to play the hand bells as well.
She surrounded herself with children all her life by caring for many as the
babysitter everyone wanted. Her grandchildren later, became the love and
light of her daily life. Most loving and caring Memaw ever! In
addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James
Rodney Tucker, her first grandchild Ashley Elizabeth Shobe, a brother
William Owen Kiff, and two sisters Helen Marjorie Kiff Harris and Rena Dell
Kiff Ferguson. Survivors include a son and daughter in law; David and Debbie
Tucker of Dallas, T.X. a daughter and son in law Lydia and John Tudor of
Huntington, WV. Six grandchildren Joey Tucker and Michael Tucker; Tyler
Tudor, Travis Tudor, Patrick Tudor, Kristin Tudor, other survivors are many
very special nieces and nephews, a wonderful and dedicated sister in law
Harriet Tucker and her birthday bunch friends.
The celebration of life service will be at 3:00 PM Saturday April 12, 2014
at the Beverly Hills United Methodist Church by Rev. William Haynes Jr. The
family will receive friends one hour before services at the church. In lieu
of flowers contributions may be made to the Beverly Hills United Methodist
Church 2600 Washington Blvd. Huntington, W.V. 25705 or Hospice of Huntington
1101 6th Ave Huntington, W.V. 25701. Reger Funeral Home is assisting the
family with the arrangements.
