Obituary



GARNET LUCILLE HALL BERRY, 94, a longtime resident of Huntington and Lavalette, went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on July 13, 2018, in her former home in Lavalette. She was born in Ferguson, W.Va., but lived in Lavalette most of her life. Lucille was the daughter of the late Milton and Birdie Preston Hall. In 1944 she married Nolice Eugene (Gene) Berry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; one granddaughter, Robyn Elaine Vennell; and son-in-law, David Martin. She is survived by two daughters, Dianna Berry Martin and Deborah Berry Vennell Mickle (Mark). She was also survived by her grandchildren, Leann Martin Perault (David), Allyson Martin Evenson (William), Jonathan Martin, Chad Mickle (Bianka), and four great-grandchildren, Alex Evenson, Tye Perault, Aurora Mickle and Nicholas Mickle. Most of her siblings have preceded her in death: Irene Gibson, Pauline Adkins, Hazel Owens, Erma Womeldorf, Charlotte Kelley and Tom Hall. Helen Hall was her only surviving sibling. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own. She was a member of Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church for over 45 years. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 17, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Reger Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted by Steve Berry in the Reger Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with a procession to Mays Cemetery in Lavalette immediately following the service.
