Obituary
Betty Jean Britt, of Ceredo Kenova, W.Va., went to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 14, at Cabell Huntington, Hospital. She was born Oct. 14, 1925 , in Wayne County, W.Va, a daughter of the late Welzie and Hazel Peters. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George (Doc) Britt, who has been waiting 26 years to reunite with her, and her brother Paul R. Peters. She was a retired seamstress from Corbin Ltd. And a homemaker. She was also a faithful member of Kellogg Independent Holiness Church of God. Betty is survived by a brother, Glen Peters, two sons, Bill (Rosie) Britt and Mike (Sheree) Britt, four grandchildren, Tracey (Butch) Burriss, Joshua (Jodi) Britt, Karri (Sara) Shultz-Britt, and Katie (Ronnie) Smith. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren (four more on the way) a sister-in-law (more like a sister) Donna Britt, and very special friends, Debra Lear and Bonnie Atkisson. Betty was the matriarch of the Britt Family and loved each and every one of them unconditionally. She was always quick to greet you with a smile and her joy and laughter lit up the room. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who never missed a birthday, holiday or special event. She was an unbelievably strong woman, a devout Christian and someone you could always count on. Her greatest wish was for all of her loved ones to join her in Heaven one day. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Roger Mooney in the Reger Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 19. Burial to follow at Peters Cemetery, Fort Gay, W.Va. Friends may visit the family prior to the funeral from 12:00 -2:00 PM.
