ETHEL MAE SPURLOCK HESSON
(April 23, 1943 - February 9, 2014)


ETHEL MAE SPURLOCK HESSON, 70, of Glenwood, W.Va., went to be with the Lord Sunday February 9, 2014. She was born April 23, 1943, in Cabell County, W.Va., a daughter of the late George Spurlock Sr., and Alfie Stowasser Spurlock. Ethel was a homemaker, loving wife and the best aunt anyone ever had. She was also a member of Sunrise United Methodist Church of Glenwood, W.Va., where she attended all of her life. She was also preceded in death by her husband Garland Max Hesson; two brothers, Henry Spurlock and George Spurlock Jr.; sisters Imogene Faye Bailey, Maxine M. Greathouse, Bessie Irene Bailey, Eleanor Merritt and Eloise Spurlock. She is survived by one brother, Roger Spurlock; sister-in-law Alice Spurlock and three brothers-in-law, Dallas Greathouse, Garland Bailey and Forrest Bailey; several very special nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, by Pastor Gordon Rutherford. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery.
