Betty Ruth Hite
(November 29, 1930 - February 19, 2014)



Betty Ruth Stewart Hite, 83, of Ona, WV, widow of L. Dale Buddy Hite. Loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother passed away February 19, 2014, at Midland Meadows Assisted Living. She was born November 29, 1930, in Adams County, OH, a daughter of the late Arthur R. Stewart and Vivian Poston Stewart. She was preceded in death by a brother Donald Stewart, and sisters, Gladys Hughes, Helen Ferguson, and Connie Spears. She is survived by a brother, Arthur Raymonds Stewart (Laura); sisters, Wanda Taylor and Janice Geer; sisters-in-law, Pauline Stewart, Frances Nelson, Bernice Roberts, and brother-in-law David Spears. She also was survived by five children, Shelley (Gary) Weatherholt, Ashland, KY, Terry (Charles) Johnson, Culloden, WV, Duane (Stephanie) Hite, Huntington, WV, Lesley (Elmer) Mitchell, Danville, WV, and Darrell (Cecilia) Hite, Allen, TX; eleven grandchildren, Eric, Kim and Kyle Weatherholt, Michael Johnson, Stephanie Kiefer, Cory and Tyson Mitchell, Summer Shepard, Carey and Dustin Hite, and Travis White; ten great-grandchildren; and scores of loving nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends. Betty attended schools in Huntington, and raised her children in Ona. She was of Christian faith and attended Antioch Baptist Church in Ona. The family would like to express gratitude to Betty's Midland Meadows family for friendships, love and care. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, by Kim Miller with Woman at the Well Ministries. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Donations may be sent to Hospice of Huntington or the City Mission in Huntington.
