Erma Leola Blake
(September 20, 1921 - July 15, 2015)



Erma Leola Blake, 93, of the Left Fork Barkers Ridge, Glenwood, WV, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, July 15, 2015. She was born September 20, 1921, a daughter of the late Virgie and James Cooper. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell, and son, Roger Lee Blake; three sisters, Lucille Courts (Herbert), Vivian Chapman (Junior) and Freda Mae Blake (Denny) and two brothers, James "Brud" Cooper Jr., and Dencil Knapp (Mary Lou). She is survived by one brother, Ivan Knapp (Betty) of Milton WV; two daughters, Shirley Wolfe (Mike) of Roanoke, VA, Linda Kirby (Dwight) of Glenwood, WV; and two sons, Harlin Blake (Darlene) and Marlin Blake (Jeannie), both of Glenwood, WV; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Michael Jackson (Susan), Sherry Kirwan (Stephen), Kevin Blake (LaAnna), Maranda Spry (Flattop), Ashley Jenkins (Jason), Kara, Kaitlyn, and Morgan Blake; fourteen great grandchildren Samantha, Aaron, Brittany and Summer Jackson, Tristyn, Gavin, and Aiden Blake, Brittany Davis (Chris), Blake Kennedy, Audrey and Jacob Spry, and Emma, Mason, and Garrett Jenkins; and four great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Erma was a devoted wife and mother who loved gardening and farming activities. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Darcy Thomas and Melissa Cooper of Hospice of Huntington for their compassionate care and kindness. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, with George Surgeon officiating. Burial will be in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
