ObituaryBETTY LOU HARBOUR
BETTY LOU HARBOUR, 87, of Milton, passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. She was born November 25, 1928, in Cabell County. The daughter of the late Roy McKinley and Golda Rayburn Morris, she was a generous and loving family and community member. As a young woman, Betty was employed in Huntington, and after marrying Tommy Lee Harbour in 1949, she worked as his partner in several business ventures, including a filling station and restaurant in Milton. Later in life, she served as the city's first lady during Tommy's several terms as mayor. Betty was a long-time member of the Milton Baptist Church and active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife, mother, mamaw, great-mamaw and friend. Her family and friends will miss her warm smile, kind spirit, cooking advice and delicious pies. Her daughter Brenda Bassett, and son-in-law, Ralph; grandchildren, Molly Bassett, her husband Mike Burr and Luke Bassett; and great-granddaughter, Jennings Burr, remember her with love. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy; and her son, Damon Lee. The family welcomes donations in his memory to Hospice of Huntington Inc., P.O. Box 464, Huntington, WV 25709 (304-529-4217). Friends may visit from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the funeral service, which will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton with Dr. T.J. DuBose officiating. Private burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton.
