Larry Dewayne Atkinson
(July 23, 1963 - June 19, 2016)

Larry Dewayne Atkinson, 52, of Milton, WV, passed away June 19, 2016. He was born July 23, 1963, in South Charleston, WV, a son of Paul Atkinson of Buffalo, WV, and Myrna Carol Harrison Bowling of Eleanor, WV. Larry Atkinson was a proud member of International Union of Operating engineers Local 132 for 20 years. From 2010-2013 he represented union members as Business agent for the Charleston and Huntington area. Larry worked as a crane operator for most of his career as a OE. He left his mark on many projects throughout the state, such as: B&W at John Amos, National Engineering in Mann, WV, J.S. Rollins on the Blennerhasset bridge in Parkersburg, and Triton Construction in various areas in WV. He is survived by his wife Sharon Lynn Ours Atkinson; son, Jason (Bethany) Holley; one sister Lisa P. (Mark) Atkinson Reed; two grandchildren Marshall and Kyra; one great grandchild Remington Dewayne Dawson; special cousin Sherry Mallett. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, by Pastor Windell Shull. Burial will be in Milton Cemetery.
