Loretta Carver Midkiff Sword
(June 7, 1926 - August 23, 2017)

Loretta Carver Midkiff Sword, 91, of Ona, W.Va., went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born June 7, 1926 in Bland County, V.A., a daughter of the late Thomas and Lucy Carver. She is also preceded in death by the father of her children, Leroy Midkiff; one son, Roy Lee Midkiff and two brothers, Rob Carver and Clarence Carver. She was a member of Beulah Ann Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Reynolds (Kermit); one son, J Howard Midkiff; two sisters, Pauline Clark and Claudine "Mick" Lovern (Sam); one brother, Walt Carver; three grandchildren, J Howard Midkiff Jr., Starlina Black (Virgil) and Jennifer Reynolds and three great grandchildren, Shalina Smith, Kristin Black and Kylee Black. Friends may visit from Noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Forest Memorial Park, Milton with Pastor Paul Meadows officiating.
