ObituaryBasil Scott Bledsoe BASIL SCOTT BLEDSOE, 71, of Milton, went home to be with the Lord on September 11, 2022, at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born September 21, 1950, in Culloden, W.Va., a son of the late Basil Bledsoe Jr. and Eloise Turner Bledsoe. He was also preceded in death by his niece, Tiffany Kirby Cremeans. He was a Christian, dedicated husband, loving father, and a wonderful "Poppy" to his grandchildren. He was a mechanic and a school bus driver. He was a veteran of the United States Army 254th Transportation Unit where he served from 1970-1976. He is survived by his wife Genene Carol McCallister Bledsoe; one daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Paul Wood of Barboursville; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Aerial Bledsoe of Gray, Tenn.; two sisters, Judy and Fred Kirby, and Sherry Monroe; grandchildren Conley Wood, Savanah Sowards, Camille, Clayton, Chandler, and Carson Bledsoe. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, by Pastor Ryan Navy. Entombment will be at Forest Memorial Park, Milton. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
