ObituaryCHARLIE ADKINS
CHARLIE ADKINS, 76, of Huntington, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 17, 2014, surrounded by the family that he loved so dearly. He was a former employee of Houdaille Industries and was a long time tavern owner. He was preceded in death by a special aunt who raised him, Hazel Lambert. He leaves behind his life partner Phyllis Hulsey whom he worshiped until his final breath; two special daughters, Carla Tracy and Tawnette Blankenship, as well as a special son, Rev. Bill Adkins. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Tiffany Mills and Tyler Blankenship; a great-granddaughter Sierra Misner; as well as his son-in-law and buddy, Steve Tracy; three cousins, Nancy (Tom) Midkiff, Retha (Charles) Workman and Joe Lambert. He was loved by a large host of friends and his long time friend Bill Blankenship. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by the Rev. Bill Adkins, with visitation from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. The family would like to give a special thanks to Bill Curry for all you have done and to Dr. Tammy Bannister and Dr. Lynn Patterson for all their compassion and care.
