Obituary

Clayton Minor Jr.
(December 23, 1932 - February 1, 2014)



Clayton Minor Jr., 80, of Huntington, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 1, 2014. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by the Rev. Larry Arbogast. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens with military rites performed by the American Legion Post #139. He was born December 23, 1933 in Barboursville, WV, a son of the late Clayton Minor Sr. and Georgia Gertie Hatfield Minor. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles A. Minor. He was a retired employee of ACF Industries and Q.I.S. and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. His hobbies were fishing, camping, bowling and golf. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Moore Minor; three daughters, Charla Brand of Nitro, WV, Barbette (James) Slone of Proctorville, OH, and Margo (Larry) Arbogast of South Point, OH; three sons, Timothy (Tina) Purvis of Beaufort, SC, William Purvis of Proctorville, OH, and Charles (Krista) Purvis of Weyers Cave, VA; one sister, Patty Spradling of Huntington, WV; sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Tuesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV, 25702.  The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for all their care and support.
