C. Blaine Nelson
(January 15, 1958 - June 8, 2014)

C. Blaine Nelson, 56, of Huntington, WV, passed away June 8, 2014 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. A service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. He was born January 15, 1958 in Huntington, WV a son of Carlton B. Nelson and Barbara Ferguson Nelson of Barboursville. Blaine was a 1976 graduate of Barboursville High School. He received a special appointment by Senator Robert K. Byrd to attend West Point Military Academy, but was prevented from accepting due to effects of an athletic ankle injury. He then attended West Virginia University. He was preceded in death by one brother, Berkley Nelson, maternal grandparents, Luther and Mant Ferguson and paternal grandmother Edna Nelson Shy. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two daughters, Tara Nicely, her husband Dywayne of Chillicothe, Ohio and Marissa Nelson, her fiancé David Dillon of Huntington; special sister and brother-in-law, Carla and Kevin Linville. Two brothers and sister-in-law, Jimmy Nelson and Chad and Sharon Nelson, all of Huntington. Visitation will be from Thursday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Memorial contributions may be made to Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV 25702.
