ObituaryEdsel Arvis Gibson
Edsel Arvis Gibson, 84, of Branchland, WV, loving husband, brother, uncle and Brother in Christ, went to sleep peacefully in the arms of the Lord Thursday morning, waiting for the Lord to come and take him home. He was born April 2, 1931, to Albert and Lucy “Sid” Cremeans Gibson who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Lovell, Wilford and Charles and sister, Goldie. Ed was ordained as a United Baptist Minister in September 27, 1992 and was a member of the Salem United Baptist Church. Ed will be remembered as a member of the Gibson Quartet singing and praising the Lord for many years. He is survived by his faithful and loving wife, Wilma of 57 years; two brothers, Elder Carlos Gibson and Mike Gibson; two sisters, Juanita Ferguson and Mona Chaffee; and a host of nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Ed dearly. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2015 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by Pastor Jody Thompson and Elder Jamie Clay. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery, Branchland. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith, henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me on that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8
