(November 25, 1940 - September 2, 2015)

Nancy Louise Sheffield Garvin, 74, of Barboursville, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on September 2, 2015 at Hospice House of Huntington after battling a long illness. She was born November 25, 1940 in Northfork, West Virginia to Hazel Wright Sheffield and Henry Sheffield. She is preceded in death by her mother Hazel Wright Sheffield and her father Henry Sheffield. Nancy leaves behind her beloved husband & best friend of 51 years Bobby James Garvin (Bob) of Barboursville, her son James Andrew Garvin (Andy) of Barboursville, daughter-in-law Tami Lynne McComas Garvin of Barboursville, her favorite grandson James Matthew Garvin of Barboursville, step daughter Theresa Crump and her husband Roger Crump. She also leaves behind one of the best group of Christian Bible Study friends that a family could ever have. She was a member of Lewis Memorial Baptist Church. Nancy was a graduate of Saint Mary’s School of Nursing and received the Spirit of Nursing award. She worked at St Mary’s as a pediatric nurse before beginning her carrier as a wonderful full time dedicated wife, homemaker and mother. The family wishes to thank Lewis Memorial Baptist Church, the pastoral staff, and all the many visitors and prayers that were lifted up during this difficult time. A special thank you needs to go out to Pastor David Lemming for the countless times spent in prayer and counseling with the family and for the special time spent with the family during her last hours. Nancy Garvin, Honey, Mom, you will truly be missed. Life will not be the same without your loving kindness and thoughtfulness for others. We look forward to the day when we will be united again through Christ. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Wallace Funeral Home &Chapel, Barboursville, by Dr. David Lemming. Entombment will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
