Obituary

Carlena Chapman
(August 25, 1938 - July 14, 2018)

CARLENA CHAPMAN, 79, of Ona, W.Va., passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018, peacefully in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, with her loving daughter Deborah at her side. She was born on August 25, 1938, in Cabell County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Russell and Sara Cooper Stevens. She is also preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Jean Mays, and the father of her children and former spouse, Donald Lee Chapman. She is survived by one daughter, Deborah Jarrell and her husband Scott; one son, Joe Chapman and his wife Susan and beloved pet Molly. Carlena loved life and helping others in need. A special thank you to Kay Bias and Fay Gibson for their love and support. Graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, with Matt Shultz officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations sent to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House or to Little Victories Animal Shelter would be appreciated. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
