Obituary

Richard E. Moore, 67, of South Point, OH passed away Thursday, April 3, 2008 at his residence.  Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wedsday, April 9, 2008 at Beard Mortuary, Huntington with the Rev. Richard Black officiating.  Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville.  He was born April 21, 1940 in Guyandotte, WV, a son of the late Harry and Della Clagg Moore.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Farren Moore and one sister, Nellie Louise Holley.  Richard retired from Walker Machinery after 40 plus years of employment.  He was also on the South Point Little League Baseball Board for 30 plus years and was a founding member of the Ohio District 11 Umpire’s Association.  He is survived by one daughter, Becky Childers and her fiancé, Jack Rudman of South Point; one son, Rick Moore and his fiancé, Patricia Ferguson of Catlettsburg, KY; six grandchildren, Brittany Martin, Austin, Miranda and Jordan Moore, Luke Ferguson and Kara Rudman; one great granddaughter, Emily Miller; two sisters, Mary Ann Saunders and Marlene Christian; three brothers, Harry Moore, William Moore and Robert Moore; special friends, Bill and Beth Igo and their children, Dana, Heather and Clay; and several nieces, nephews and friends.  Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Beard Mortuary.  In lieu of flowers, monetary donations would be appreciated.
