Obituary

Nancy Rae Miller Meadows
(August 25, 1943 ~ January 29, 2018)



Nancy Rae Miller Meadows, 74 of Huntington, WV went to be with her Lord on Monday, January 29, 2018 at her residence. Her services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church with The Rev. Lisa Graves officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, South Shore, KY. She was born August 25, 1943 in Ironton, Ohio the daughter of the late Guy Raymond and Maxine Cox Miller. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Caudill. She was a graduate of Marshall University. Throughout her life Nancy was an advocate for the handicapped and disabled. She worked as a supervisor with West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services. Nancy was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild.  She was also a member of A.R.T.’s, Pilot Club, P.E.O. Chapter M, Regency and Ivy Dance Clubs and former member of Board of Directors for Goodwill. She also served on the Event Planning Committee for Prestera. Nancy enjoyed her time playing on numerous Bridge and Canasta Clubs. For 46 years Nancy joined her husband Bill, a juried artisan, at the Mountain State Arts and Craft Fair in Ripley. Together they made many friends and wonderful memories. Nancy leaves behind her beloved family, her husband of 53 years, William “Bill” Matthew Meadows, the person she chose to be a wonderful mother to; her daughter and best friend, Mariana Lenee Guy who made her a grandmother to Ariana Rae Guy whom she cherished and adored. She also leaves behind a very special son-in-law, Joshua Bret Guy, and a host of extended family and friends who she valued each and every friendship.  She touched many lives through her work and volunteering, but most of all she was a wonderful, wife, mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. John’s Episcopal Church, 3000 Washington Blvd, Huntington, WV 25705. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary.
