Margaret Lucille Cornwell
(September 14, 1926 - August 20, 2010)



Mrs. Margaret Lucille Cornwell, 83, of Huntington, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 20, 2010, at Heritage Center, after a long illness. She was preceded in death in 2000, by her beloved husband of 54 years, Edgar Smith Cornwell. Margaret retired from St. Mary's Medical Center's Housekeeping Department, and attended Fifth Avenue Free Will Baptist Church, Huntington, WV. She was born September 14, 1926, in Hamilton County, OH, a daughter of the late William McKinley and Goldie Mae (Nicely) Erwin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Frances Lorene Sias, and Velouria Jane Perdue, and brothers, Willie Cledith Erwin and Homer Lee Erwin. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret Ann and Raymond Blankenship of Proctorville, OH, and Rebecca Jane and Rick Baker of Huntington WV; a son, Edgar Lynn Cornwell of Huntington, WV; three grandchildren, Aaron Scott and Jessica Holley of Milton, WV, Whitney Brooke and Hillary Ann Baker of Huntington, WV; two great grandchildren, Emma Grace Holley and Emily Ann McGuffin; a brother and sister-in-law, Garland Leo and Jean Erwin of Columbus, OH, and a very dear sister-in-law, Maxine Maskell, of Hobe South, FL. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, August 22, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary, with Rev. Ray Vance and Rev Jason Black officiating. Burial will follow in the Patrick Cemetery, Wayne, WV. Friends may call from 6 pm until 8 pm Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Chapman's Mortuary.
