Edward Roger "Edard" Hensley
(October 6, 1947 - August 28, 2010)



Edward Roger "Edard" Hensley, 62, of Huntington, WV, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2010 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Greg Creasy officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. He was born October 6, 1947 in Catlettsburg, KY a son of the late Charles Ray and Madge Conley Hensley. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Wilbur Hensley and an infant sister, Carol Sue Hensley. He was a machine operator for American National Rubber for 35 years, where he was a strong union man, and he managed Imperial Lanes for three years. He loved bowling, gardening, and was an avid Pittsburg Steeler fan. He was a Baptist by faith. Survivors include: his wife, Sherry Hix Kain Hensley; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Natasha Hensley of Fort Gay, WV; a daughter and son-in-law, Jeannie and Damon Nunnaly of Ashland, KY; three grandchildren, Paige Hensley of Fort Gay, WV and Trace Hensley and Kayla Hensley, both of Kenova, WV; two step sons, Davie Kain of Huntington and Steve Barnette of Snyder, TX ; a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Debbie Hensley of Greensburg, PA; a sister, Marva Bellomy of Ceredo, WV; two special nieces, Sheila McCoy and Kim Shafer; and his loving companions, Tobie, Spuds and Rascal. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, August 30, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary. Donations may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV 25702.
