Virginia Frances Rivers
(August 13, 1919 - August 13, 2010)



Virginia Frances Rivers of Branchland, WV, passed away on her 91st birthday, Friday August 13, 2010 at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 13, 1919 in Branchland, WV, a daughter of the late Thomas and Almeda Adkins Watts. Other family members preceding her in death were a husband, Gordon Rivers; two sisters, Nanny Dietch and Gladys Burns; three brothers, Ernie Watts, Alfred Watts and Abraham Watts; and two infants, Ray and Mae Watts. She worked as a forklift operator at Bethlehem Steel. Survivors include a son, Ray Rivers of New Jersey; two sisters, Cardela Mason of Huntington, and Nevada Mills of East Lynn, WV; two brothers, Donald Watts and Lester Watts, both of Branchland; three half sisters, Almeda Tincher, Linda Black, and Dorothy Gilkerson; and three half brothers, Freddie Watts, Thomas Watts, and Robert Watts. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
