Hermin Foard Holland
(December 9, 1925 - November 8, 2010)



Hermin Foard Holland, 84, of Huntington, passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side Monday, November 8, 2010. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, November 12, 2010, at the White Chapel Mausoleum, with Pastor Janet Mounts officiating. Burial will follow with military graveside rites conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard Post 16 Huntington. He was born December 9, 1925, in Franklin County, VA., a son of the late Posey Lester and Lee Ola Dillon Holland. Also preceding him in death was an infant son, Freddie Joe Holland, a son, Roger Lee Holland, a daughter-in-law, Judy Holland, three sisters, Elizabeth Quidort, Ann Ramey, and Mary Joe Daughtery, and seven brothers, Charles Holland, Roy Holland, Dan Holland, Harry Holland, Zebbie Holland, Posey Holland and Jimmy Holland. He was a US Army veteran serving during WWII, Pentecostal by faith, a self-employed produce salesman, and a retired insurance salesman for Life of Virginia Insurance Company. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Virginia Lee Spurlock Holland; one daughter and son-in-law, Eugenia and Jim Roland of Huntington; four grandchildren, Jody Holland of Ashton, WV, Jason and Carey Roland of Huntington, Joshua and Carrie Roland of Proctorville, OH, Jimmy and Melissa Roland of Kenova, WV; six great-grandchildren, Kyle, Coby, Bailey, Brooklynn, Bentley and Kaylee. The family wishes to thank the many neighbors that helped take care of Dad during his illness, Scott Revely of Sarah Care and Hospice of Huntington. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the church or charity of your choice or to Hospice of Huntington. Friends may call at the cemetery from 10:30 am to service time Friday at the cemetery. Chapman's Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
