James Michael "Jim" Thompson
(February 20, 1955 - November 30, 2010)



James Michael "Jim" Thompson, 55, of Jacksonville Beach, FL, formerly of Huntington, WV, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010 in Jacksonville Beach, FL. Jim was born February 20, 1955 in Huntington, WV a son of Ann Thompson of Huntington and the late Thomas F. Thompson, Jr. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Thomas F. Thompson, Sr. and Nolda Thompson and maternal grandparents, Lester and Imogene Wallace. He was a 1973 graduate of Huntington East High School, where he played football and baseball, he was a member of Orange Park Presbyterian Church in Florida, and he enjoyed fishing. In addition to his mother, survivors include: his wife of 24 years, Sandy Hungate Thompson; his brother, Scott Thompson of Huntington; two step children, Shannon Brangaccio and her husband, Dave of Flemming Island, FL and Ryan Gaeger of Jacksonville Beach, FL; three step grandchildren, David Ryan Brangaccio, Mitchell Thomas Brangaccio, and Jason Adam Brangaccio; his father-in-law, Roger Hungate and his wife, Mary of South Point, OH; several aunts, uncles, and cousins, whom he love dearly; and many close friends in Huntington and in Florida that made his life richer. A celebration of life service will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, January 15, 2011, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with his life long friend, Pastor Jeff Perkins of First Church of God in Mt. Sterling, KY officiating. The family will receive friends after 1:30 PM Saturday at Chapman's Mortuary. Inurnment will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House,. 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV 25702.
