Edward Walden Tarpley

Edward Walden Tarpley, 77, of Huntington, WV, died Thursday June 7, 2012 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Graveside funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM Monday June 11, 2012 at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville with Rev. Owen L. Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow. Edward was born May 17, 1935 in Baldwin County, GA a son of the late Nicholas Walden & Viola Youngblood Tarpley. He retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers and Ashland Oil. He was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Edward Tarpley, a daughter, Glenda Jean Tarpley and a brother, Allen Bruce Tarpley. Survivors include his wife Phyliss Hager Tarpley, one brother, Joseph Nicholas Tarpley of Huntington, one sister, Wilma Jeanette McKee of Ashland, KY and his dog Diva. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday June 10, 2012.
