Richard Taylor "Dick" Baker, 76, of Huntington, WV, died Wednesday September 2, 2015 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday September 6, 2015 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington with Dave Akers officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. Dick was born September 15, 1938 in Huntington, WV a son of the late James Edward and Lida Jane Taylor Baker. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from the Cabell County B.O.E., Hall of Fame member and Board of Directors member of the Huntington Bowling Association. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Jewell Parsons and a grandson, Michael Dillon. Survivors include his wife Ruth Ann Zimmerman Baker, two daughters, Theressa (Garry) Dillon and Alice Jean (Don) Sprague all of Huntington, three sons, Richard A. Baker of Galveston, TX, Boyce (Jennifer) Baker of Kenova and James R. Baker of Gainesville, FL, one sister, Alice Adkins of Somerset, KY, two brothers, James "Doc" (Karen) Baker of Ashland, KY, and Robert E. (Deborah) Baker of Pass Christiane, MS, 8 grandchildren, Jennifer Gangwish, Jeremy Dillon, Shannon Fuller, Jeremy Wunderlich-Baker, Taylor and Cael Sprague, Ella Baker and Kendall Baker, 4 great grandchildren, Carrie and Zander Gangwish, Sage Miller and Skye Fuller. Pallbearers will be Rod Chapman, Collis Blake, Jim Chapman, George Lang, Don Ewanus, and Ron Baumgardner. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington. Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Saturday September 5, 2015 at Chapman's Mortuary.
