Obituary

ANNA LILLIAN HICKS, 90, of Milton went home to be with her Lord Nov. 12, 2004, in St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with Rev. Tracy Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. Lillian was born March 21, 1914, in Lincoln County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Millard and Lelia Adkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Floyd "Bud" Hicks; three brothers, Leonard Adkins, Griff Adkins and Joel Adkins; three sisters, Faye Gandee, Molly Keyser and Marie Brooks. Lillian retired from the cosmetic department of Anderson & Newcomb Department Store. She was a member of Union Baptist Church. Lillian is survived by three sisters, Beatrice Grass of Yawkey, W.Va., Lucille Miller of New Cumberland, W.Va., and Edith Moore of Hamersville, Ohio; one brother, Louis S. Adkins of Georgetown, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Natala Adkins of Deltona, Fla., and Ruby Johnson of Oak Hill, W.Va.; "adopted" son and daughter and grandchildren, Herskel and Lucy Dailey of Milton; and many nieces and nephews. Lillian spent the past two years with her friends at Chateau Grove Assisted Living. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
