Obituary

SYLVIA GAY HICKS COX, 86, formerly of Milton, passed away Monday, April 11, 2005, in Morristown, Tenn. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2005, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery. She was born April 19, 1918, a daughter of the late Jonah R. and Maxie Reynolds Hicks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John J. Cox; sister, Nella Mae Mohr; brothers, Everet, Keleth and Ross Hicks; nephew, James Mohr. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Gina Cox of Pinehurst, N.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn Cox Ware and John David Ware of Morristown, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Shelley Barnard, Cathy Ware and David Ware and two special great-granddaughters, Kelley Smith and Macey Barnard, all of Morristown, Tenn.; nephew Richard Mohr and wife Charlotte of Milton; two nieces, Belinda Baumgartner of Bellingham, Wash., and Beth Hicks of Columbus, Ohio, in addition to several grand-nieces and -nephews. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
