Obituary

FREDA IRENE BLEDSOE MORRISON, 87, affectionately called "Freda," of Salt Rock went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 29, 2005, in St. Mary's Medical Center after an illness. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2005, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Pastor Gary Wilson and Pastor Danny Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. Freda was born January 21, 1918, in Salt Rock, a daughter of the late Patrick and Jessie Bledsoe. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Arnold "Bear" Morrison; granddaughter, Cindy Lake; and one brother, Maurice Boyd Bledsoe. Freda was a charter member of Evergreen Hills Baptist Church, Culloden. She worked as a cook for eight years, but her main occupation was a "great" homemaker. Freda is survived by her two sons, Dale Morrison and his wife Karen and Darrell "Tadpole" Morrison and his wife Nonie; one daughter, Nadra Ankeny, all of Milton; grandchildren, Tonya Adkins, Brian and Amy Morrison, Kara Leigh Watson, Angie and Kevin Williamson and Ann and Gary Hand; seven great-grandchildren, Allison Lake, Nicholas Adkins, Tyler Adkins, Taylor Williamson, Zach Williamson, Annisyah Hand and Callie Hand; one sister, Doreen Midkiff of Ona; three brothers, Wyatt Bledsoe, Leonard Bledsoe and Clarence Bledsoe, all of Salt Rock; several nieces and nephews; special friends that loved her, Pauline Templeton, Eva and Opie Edwards. Special thanks to Leanne, her caregiver. Friends and loved ones may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2005, at Heck Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Freda's name to Evergreen Hills Baptist Church.
