Obituary

Alonzo W. Black, 79 of Ona, WV died Sunday, July 23, 2006 in St. Mary's Medical Center.  Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Rev. Richard Black and Freddie Anderson officiating.  Burial will follow in Maupin Cemetery, Ona.  He was preceded in death by and infant son, Keith Dale; three precious grandchildren, Hunter Johnson, Brandon and Tara Black and their mother, Becky; brothers, Earl, Addie, Willis "Pete", Matthew, Melvin, Richard and Shelby; two sister, Virginia and Laura.  He is survived by his wife of59 years, Jean Lipscomb Black; seven children and their spouses, Donald & Tammy Black, Karen & Rick Harvey, Beverly and Mark Triplett, Timmy & Mary Black, Jeff & Kim Black, Kim Johnson, and Sherry & John Mueller; 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; three sisters, Nina Midkiff, Myrtle Terry and Della Childers and host of friends.  He was an ordained Free Will Baptist Minister and a former Town of Milton Policeman.  The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Yingling, 5th Floor, Team 2 nurses at St. Mary's; special friends, Bob & Debbie Fannin, special nephew, Roger Black and a special granddaughter, Sarah Triplett for their loving care and support to dad.  Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
