Obituary

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Alma Jean Payton, 67, of Culloden, passed away Friday, May 11, 2007 in Hospice House of Huntington.  Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM, Monday, May 14, 2007 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with Rev. Roman Brown officiating.  Entombment will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton.  She was born September 30, 1939 in Hunt, WV a daughter of the late George C. and Martha Trent Brown.  She was also preceded in death by her son Richard “Donnie” Payton.  She was a former cook for Village Inn Restaurant.  She had worked for Blue and Grey (Jones Restaurant), Sovine’s Foodland, L and P Vending, and the American Legion, Barboursville.  She spent her time playing with her grandchildren, working puzzles, and playing bingo.  She is survived by her husband, Aaron D. Payton; her children, Sheryl Cupp of Milton; Kandel and Danny Cain of South Point, OH; and Greg and Amy Payton of Huntington; her brother, Roman Brown of Beckley, who is officiating the services; five grandchildren, Oak Cupp, Chris Valerio, Donovan Payton, Sarah-Brooke Mankins, and Elizabeth Payton; one great grandchild, McKenzie Cupp; very special friend, Brenda McCarty; and a host of family and friends.  Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM, on Sunday, May 13, 2007 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.  Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington.
