TED G. BLANKENSHIP
(March 6, 1942 - March 11, 2012)



Ted Garland Blankenship, 70 of Huntington, WV, passed away on March 12, 2012 in St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born March 6, 1942 in Bluefield, WV the son Jewell (Vaught) Wilson of Ona, WV and the late Ralph Vernon Blankenship. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Harold Blankenship. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Huntington, WV and was a retired Systems Engineer with IBM. He is survived by his friend and life companion of 48 years, Clyde Grubbs of Huntington, WV; four brothers, Vernon Lee Blankenship (Catherine) of Gap Mills, WV, Clark Cletus (Nancy) of Chester, VA, Alvin David (Marylou) and Ralph Douglas (Diane) Blankenship both of Gap Mills, WV; one sister-in-law, Charlene Blankenship of Columbus, OH; three step-brothers, Melvin Wilson (Gayle), Willard Wilson (Becky) and Rick Wilson (Judy); step-sisters, Donna Boggess (Harold), Phyllis Hanson (Clark) and Cathy Smith (Blane) and numerous nieces and nephews.  Clark would like to mention how much Ted loved his home place in the mountains of Gap Mils, WV. Cathy and Vernon would like to thank Ted for all the bird watching and beautiful sunsets shared at his home in the mountains and for all the laughter  and good times. Ricky would like to thank him for sharing his deck and for the picture taking and wildlife. We love him so much.  A Memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Huntington, WV with Jim Morgan officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Trinity Episcopal Church Columbarium.  Henson Mortuary, Barboursville, WV is caring for the family.
