Ronald Lee Hooser
(August 27, 1930 - January 7, 2012)


Ronald Lee Hooser passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Woodlands Retirement Community. He was born August 27, 1930 to Alfred E. and Maxine Cloniger Hooser in Huntington, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his younger brother Tom, and a daughter, Martha Hooser Powell. His survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Helen Adkins Hooser, daughter and son-in-law Catherine Hooser and John Jay White, a son and daughter-in-law Ronald Henderson and Lisa R. Hooser, a son-in-law Frank McKinnon Powell Jr., and a special cousin-in-law, Robert H. Wilhelm (Jane). He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Ronald Hooser was the President of R.H. Adkins companies until his retirement. He was past president of the Marshall University Foundation and a devoted choir member at Fifth Avenue Baptist Church. He served on the boards of the Lincoln National Bank and Key Centurion Bank. The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care provided by the Woodlands healthcare staff, Hospice nurses, and a wonderful friend, Mr. Jimmy Cox. A private graveside service was held Tuesday, January 10, 2012. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Fifth Avenue Baptist Church in his memory.
