Jarrett Roscoe Sammons Jr.
(June 22, 1927 - September 1, 2014)



Jarrett Roscoe Sammons, Jr., 87, of Huntington, widower of Geraldine Akers Sammons, passed away Monday, September 1, 2014, at his residence. Son of the late Jarrett Roscoe Sammons Sr. and Margaret Melmige Sammons Roehrer. He was a graduate of Williamson High School and a retired watch maker for Mack and Dave's of Huntington. He was a member of the Navy SeaBee's during WWII. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm Friday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Rev. Rick Glass. The committal service will be at 1:00 PM Saturday at Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his daughter Marie Scarberry and son-in-law JR Scarberry. A brother Mack Richard Sammons and Brother-In-Law Paul F. Lemley. Jarrett is survived by his sister Lillian Lemley of Sun City, Arizona, his son Sidney (Debbie) Sammons of Ridgeway, VA, daughters Margaret Sue (Paul) Doying of Canton, NC and Joyce Kay (Rick) Walters of Barboursville, WV. Grandchildren Paul Scarberry, Jarrett Sammons, Tommy Barrett, Christina Padgett, Michael Walters, Chantal Walters. 7 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Jarrett was an avid bowler and was of the Church of Christ Faith. Friends may call from 6:00 to 7:00 pm Friday at the Reger Funeral Home. Belfrey (KY) Chapter No. 141 DAV will conduct military graveside rites.
