Obituary



ROBERT LARRY ADKINS, 60, of Huntington, passed away Friday, January 2, 2015, at his residence. Robert was born September 28, 1954, in Cabell County, W.Va., to Kay Bartee Whisman of Wheelersburg, Ohio and the late Robert Adkins. He was a former Kenova police officer and a retired Lake Worth, Fla., police officer with 19 years of service. Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman. Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at 6 p.m. at the Reger Funeral Chapel. In addition to his father he was also preceded in death by brother Kenneth Adkins. In addition to his mother Robert is survived by his step-father Russell Whisman; a brother Timothy Adkins of Atlanta, Georgia; a special niece and spouse Nichole and Jeremy Zamarron of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two special great-nephews Elijah and Noah Zamarron; and special friend Danny Beckley of Kenova. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until service time on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at the Reger Funeral Home.
