Jackie Dawn Curnutte
(June 7, 1965 - May 26, 2015)



JACKIE DAWN CURNUTTE, 49 years old, completed her journey home on Tuesday May 26. She passed with her husband Timothy, daughter Jessie, and son Jacob by her side. Jackie was born June 7, 1965 to Mary and Winfred (Bud) Lucas in Norfolk, Virginia. Jackie graduated from Barboursville High School in 1983. She went on to work at the VA Medical Center for 24 years where she was an advocate for veterans in regards to finance. Her compassion and heart earned her the honor of being nominated a “Kentucky Colonel”. Jackie was a faithful member of the Kenova Church of Christ where her love for children shone through as she taught school age Sunday school for many years. In addition to her immediate family, Jackie is survived by daughter –in-law Tiffany, granddaughter Ava Kate, son-in-law to be Austin Mills, mother-in-law Phyllis Curnutte, brother and sister-in-law Ray and Renita Lucas, niece Shelby Lucas, and a host of loving extended family. Friends and family are asked to visit from 6 :00 to 9:00 PM at Reger Funeral Home in Huntington, WV on Thursday May 28. A private burial ceremony will take place at the Curnutte Family Cemetery on Friday May 29. The family would like to extend special thanks to care givers Michelle Maynard, Lou Snider, Anita Mills, and Kathy Howerton.
