Denver Leo Phillips
(July 6, 1966 - May 11, 2015)



Denver Leo Phillips, 48, of Huntington, passed away on Monday May 11, 2014 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Saturday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Keith Wiebe, Jr. Burial will follow in Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova, WV. He was born July 6, 1966 in Huntington, a son of Ronald Lee and Patty Lou Langdon Phillips. Leo was a veteran of the US Navy, entering the service on August 26, 1986. He spent 10 years on a Submarine Service Fleet. During his time in the service Leo was awarded the Kuwait Liberation Medal and a Meritorious Unit Commendation with one Bronze Service Star for his service during the Persian Gulf War. He graduated from Huntington High School and attended Grace Gospel Church and was an employee of the Huntington VA Medical Center. In addition to his parents Leo is survived by his Aunt Joan Phillips; cousins Margaret Vahovick, Shaun Phillips, Shashawnee Hicks and Randy Phillips and his good friend Brandon Ashworth. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Friday at the Reger Funeral Home.  American Legion Post 93 of Kenova will conduct graveside military rites.
