Obituary


Marjory Craig Ray, 92, of Huntington, widow of Charles Albert Ray, who loved her Lord always, passed away Friday July 29, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Saturday at the Shoals Missionary Baptist Church by Robert Norton. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Kenova, WV. She was born February 26, 1924 in Shoals, WV, a daughter of the late James and Mary Kendrick Luther. She was a homemaker and a member of the Shoals Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. Marjory loved to bake and gave her baked goods to her friends who in turn loved her very much. She taught her grandchildren how to bake her famous “Carrot Cake”. She never had a negative thought toward anyone. In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by brothers James Luther, Adrain Luther (Edna Mae), Frank Luther and Robert Luther and sisters Anna Crabtree (Otis), Evelyn Adkins, Flora Sanderson (John Western “Wes”) and Jewel Luther. Survivors include a son Larry Walter Ray; daughters Gail Davis (Vernon) and Gay Buchanan (Bill); seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; brother John Luther (Eloise); sister Mary Janice Willis (William); sisters in law Mildred Ray and Juanita Luther; many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; a special friend Janice Perdue and her faithful companion “Tiger”. Friends may call from noon until service time on Saturday at the Shoals Missionary Baptist Church. Reger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
