BILLY MAXON TRIPPETT, 88, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Jerry Matt. Burial will follow at the Donel Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery. Billy was born on January 10, 1928, in Huntington, W.Va., the son of the late Thomas Graydon and Charlotte Bartram Trippett. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother and sister Herb Trippett and Helen Moore, and half brother and sister Paul Marrow and Kathleen “Pat” Basenback. Billy was a retired Captain for the Huntington Fire Department and veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Elks, American Legion Post 93, Kenova, W.Va., and a member of the Huntington YMCA. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Judy Trippett; daughter and son-in-law, Billie Lynn and Eddie Young; one grandchild, Emily Young; a sister-in-law Sally Trippett; special nieces and nephews Karen and Harvey Jarrell, Brenda and Lee Lusher, Mollie McQuaid, Diane Ward, Leigh Ann Trippett (Brian Belcher) and Stan Moore; and his very special lifetime companion Frances Sias. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2017, at the Reger Funeral Home.
