Mildred D. Lewis
(march 8, 1928 - February 17, 2013)



Mildred D. Lewis of Huntington, WV formerly of West Hamlin, WV, passed away February 17, 2013. She was born March 8, 1928, in Morehead, Kentucky. She's the daughter of the late George and Beulah Fite Williams and the stepdaughter of Harold Bennett. She's also the widow of the late Lon L. Lewis Jr. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by their son Lon L. Lewis III, granddaughter Ashley Donahue, four brothers George Williams, Loren Williams, Curt Williams and Harold Williams and three sisters Ida Mae Sage, Thelma Williams and Lorena Barbour. She is survived by two daughters, Tammy Edwards of Apple Grove, WV, and Menina Parsons of Canton, GA; one sister, Joyce Porter and husband Paul of Tampa, FL; two brothers, Kenneth Williams and Jo Ann of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Homer Williams and wife Gloria of Ft. Mill, SC; as well as nine grandchildren Tara Donahue, Josh Donahue, Sarah Donahue, Chad Nichols, Joey Nichols, Courtney Mayhew, Jared Parsons, Caleb Parsons, Jacey Lewis and six great grandchildren Jacob, Joshua, Clover, Nevaeh, Brooklyn, Cadence, BriLeigh and Bristol. She was a member of Salt Rock United Methodist Church, where she served as the Young Adult Sunday School teacher and a member of the Friendship Group. Mildred became a member of the Hamlin Chapter #106 Order of Eastern Star on December 15, 1957. She served in the highest capacity in her Chapter in 1964-1965 and was recognized by The Grand Chapter of West Virginia in the same years with an appointment as Grand Representative to the State of South Dakota. She was a faithful and devoted member these many years and lived her life as one who has seen His Star in the East. She retired from the US Postal Service after twenty three years of service in West Hamlin. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be after 12:00 noon Wednesday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor David Cartwright.
